Sungsook Setton
After studying under Korean and Chinese masters, Sungsook has practiced water- ink painting for more than two decades. The direction of her work tends more and more towards simplicity and spontaneity. Sungsook's work has been widely seen in the US, and U.K. She is the recipient of many prizes and awards, including the "Best of Show" award at the National Juried Exhibition of the Sumi-e Society of America, Inc. She has conducted workshops for educators on East Asian water-ink painting and calligraphy sponsored by SCOPE for the last ten years. She is presently teaching at the Manhattan China Institute, the Long Island Art League, East End Art Council and her studio. Her program is also listed at BOCES Art in Education program.
